Raipur, April 23 (NationPress) Due to the prevailing heatwave conditions, the government of Chhattisgarh has revised its summer vacation schedule for schools, now set from April 25 to June 15, 2025.
Previously, the vacation was planned for May 1 to May 15.
In related news, reports indicate that a resident of Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh sadly succumbed to heatstroke while in Telangana.
The victim, identified as 25-year-old Punem Nannu, had traveled from Pusnar in the Gangaloor region of Bijapur to Telangana for chili harvesting, according to the reports.
This tragic event took place in Mulugu, located within the Veerbhadravaram district of Venkatapuram division, as stated in the reports.
The weather departments of both Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have forecasted a continuation of heat-wave conditions for the next three days.
On Tuesday, Raipur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 44.4 degrees Celsius in Chhattisgarh, which felt like it was nearing 45 degrees Celsius, while Ambikapur noted the lowest minimum at 20.7 degrees Celsius.
A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological department for 11 districts, including Surguja, Raipur, Bilaspur, and Durg divisions, lasting for three days.

On the other hand, Shahdol's Kalyanpur observed the lowest temperature at 18.2 degrees Celsius, while Pachmarhi, a well-known hill station, recorded a maximum temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius.
