New Delhi, Feb 21 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's newly formed Cabinet has initiated its work with a strong emphasis on delivering on its promises and prioritizing public welfare.

During a press briefing, newly appointed Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa highlighted the key priorities of the Delhi government, which include providing clean water, clean air, and the execution of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, as pledged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sirsa stated to IANS, "We have commenced efforts to guarantee clean water and air from our very first meeting, alongside the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Furthermore, we have reinstated the distribution of subsidized cylinders to assist our citizens."

He reiterated that the administration's primary focus is on delivering on its promises and enhancing public welfare.

When queried about the previous Delhi Food and Supply Minister, Imran Hussain, Sirsa maintained a diplomatic tone, asserting, "Our emphasis is on positivity. The people of Delhi have encountered numerous challenges under 'AAP-da' for a prolonged period, and we are dedicated to alleviating those burdens.

"If any misconduct has occurred, suitable measures will be taken. Nonetheless, our main goal is not to target individuals but to foster Delhi’s growth," he elaborated.

In addition, Minister Ashish Sood reaffirmed the commitment of the BJP-led Delhi government to provide free medical services valued at up to Rs 10 lakh per citizen.

"This was a significant promise made to the public, and we are diligently working towards its realization. Every assurance given by Modi Ji will be fulfilled," Sood assured.

In light of these developments, former Delhi CM Atishi raised concerns regarding the BJP's pre-election pledge to offer monthly financial aid to women.

On X, Atishi remarked, "The BJP's Delhi government began deceiving the citizens of Delhi from day one. Prior to the elections, PM Modi and other BJP leaders vowed that the first Cabinet meeting would pass a scheme to provide Rs 2,500 each month to every woman in Delhi. However, no decision was made during the first Cabinet meeting today. It's disheartening that a woman Chief Minister failed to uphold her promise to women on the inaugural day."

In response, Ashish Sood clarified the BJP’s position, stating, "The Bharatiya Janata Party does not engage in empty promises like the AAP. Effective implementation of any scheme necessitates meticulous planning, and our Chief Minister is acting promptly. Soon, the public will receive tangible updates regarding this issue."
