New Delhi, Feb 4 (NationPress) With merely hours remaining before the Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP asserted that the Personal Assistant (PA) of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi was apprehended with Rs 5 lakh, intended for distribution among voters.
"Delhi CM Atishi Marlena's PA was apprehended with Rs 5 lakh in Girikhand Nagar. An FIR has been filed. A scheme is underway to purchase voters in Kalkaji," stated BJP In-charge of National Information & Technology Dept Amit Malviya on X.
Previously, an FIR was lodged against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at a police station in Haryana’s Kurukshetra district due to comments regarding the 'poisoning' of the Yamuna river, sources reported on Tuesday.
These incidents have arisen merely hours prior to the voting for the 70-member Delhi Assembly, set to commence at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
Additionally, on Tuesday, during a conversation with IANS, Kejriwal’s former associate and prominent social activist Anna Hazare criticized the former Delhi Chief Minister, stating, "Initially, Arvind was aligned with me, but once power and money clouded his judgment, everything changed."
He elaborated that when Kejriwal shifted his focus to managing the liquor business and strayed from the principles they once upheld, he chose to disengage.
"I was invited to join the party, but I declined; I refuse to be a part of it," Hazare emphasized.
Regarding Kejriwal and Sisodia’s legal challenges, Hazare firmly asserted, "Those who engage in wrongful acts will face imprisonment. Our nation functions according to the law."
Voting for the 70-member Delhi Assembly is set for Wednesday (February 5), with vote counting scheduled for February 8.
