Jaipur, March 5 (NationPress) Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed his discontent on Wednesday regarding the mockery directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting that PM Modi comes from a modest background.

“He is the offspring of a disadvantaged family, exemplifying hard work and perseverance. His early life was riddled with difficulties, and he even sold tea at a railway station,” Dhankhar stated.

While addressing India's economic advancements, he noted that the country has surpassed the UK and aims to overtake Japan and Germany, positioning itself as the third-largest economy globally. "Today's India is reclaiming its role as a Vishwa Guru (world leader), akin to its ancient status," he remarked.

On Wednesday, Vice President Dhankhar, alongside his wife, Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, visited Mahatma Gandhi School in Sangasi, Jhunjhunu, where they interacted with students.

He also praised President Droupadi Murmu’s journey, asserting that despite her tribal roots, her commitment and diligence enabled her to ascend to the roles of MLA, minister, governor, and ultimately, President of India — a remarkable testament to Indian democracy. During his visit, Dhankhar acknowledged the enhanced participation of women in the Indian Armed Forces.

“When I first visited Sainik School in Chittorgarh, I never envisioned that girls would be studying there. Now, girls are being welcomed in Sainik Schools, including a dedicated institution in Mathura. Today, they are piloting fighter jets and holding significant positions in the military, which is a source of immense pride,” he remarked.

He urged students to prioritize their health, stating: “Without good health, you will need assistance instead of providing it to others.”

Encouraging educational excursions, he invited students to visit Delhi in small groups, assuring them of comprehensive arrangements for their accommodation and meals while they explore Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Prime Minister’s Museum, and the War Memorial.

Commending Jhunjhunu for its contributions to women’s empowerment, the Vice President spotlighted the accomplishments of two distinguished women from the district — Kamla Beniwal, who held roles as an MLA, minister, deputy chief minister, and governor of Gujarat, and Sumitra Singh, who served in ministerial capacities and was the first woman Speaker of the Rajasthan Assembly.

He hailed the Nari Shakti Vandan Act as a landmark decision, guaranteeing one-third reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and legislative assemblies, which he believes will enhance women’s influence in governance.

Discussing India's development, Dhankhar pointed out that 12 crore households now have access to toilets, and 55 crore individuals possess bank accounts. He proudly mentioned that India’s Internet usage exceeds that of the US and China combined, with rapid road expansion and the introduction of new trains further enhancing connectivity.

Before wrapping up, he quoted Mahatma Gandhi, stressing the significance of Swadeshi (self-reliance). He encouraged students to opt for Indian-made products over foreign imports, reinforcing the notion that such choices bolster the nation’s economy and create job opportunities.
