Giridih, March 16 (NationPress) In a devastating event, a father reportedly took the lives of his three children before ending his own in Maheshliti village, situated in the Pirtand police station region of Jharkhand's Giridih district, as confirmed by officials on Sunday.
The victims have been identified as 36-year-old Sanaul Ansari, his daughters Afreen Parveen (12) and Zaiba Naz (8), along with his son Safaul Ansari (6). Authorities believe the tragic events unfolded during the early hours of Sunday, around 2 or 3 a.m.
The horrifying discovery was made on Sunday morning when neighbors, worried about the unusual stillness in Sanaul's home during Sehri (the pre-dawn meal during Ramzan), knocked at his door. Upon receiving no answer, they entered the residence and found Sanaul hanging, while the bodies of his three children were discovered nearby.
Local police from Khokhara police station, along with Dumri Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sumit Prasad, promptly arrived at the scene upon receiving the report. The bodies were subsequently transported to Giridih Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
Initial investigations indicate that Sanaul may have strangled his three children prior to taking his own life.
The police reported that Sanaul was a mason and also ran a small ration and clothing shop from his home.
At the time of the incident, Sanaul's wife was away, having visited her maternal home in Jamdha village two days prior. She returned to Maheshliti upon learning of the incident.
