Patna, Feb 8 (NationPress) In a disturbing incident, a father brutally slit the throat of his own six-year-old son in Gopalganj, Bihar, on Friday. This tragic event occurred in Narayanpur village, as reported by the police.
In a shocking turn of events, the accused, Arvind Kumar Singh, after committing this heinous act, concealed the body in a cotton bag and awaited the arrival of the police at his home.
Authorities revealed that Arvind, who had returned from abroad three months prior, had been experiencing mental distress due to ongoing family conflicts with his wife.
On the day of the incident, Arvind’s wife, a school teacher, had left for work in the morning with their two daughters and son.
In the afternoon, after the children returned, Arvind gave his daughters some money and sent them to the market. Alone with his six-year-old son, he allegedly committed the gruesome act.
When Arvind’s wife returned home and raised an alarm, local villagers rushed to the scene. The incident has instigated widespread shock and fear in the community. The police were alerted and responded swiftly.
Arvind was found at the gate waiting for law enforcement and was taken into custody as the primary suspect.
“We have apprehended the father of the victim. Initial investigations indicate that a family dispute may have been the motive. Arvind's relationship with his wife has been tense since his return from abroad,” stated Anand Mohan, SDPO of Hathua Range, Gopalganj district.
The accused has admitted to the crime, expressing no remorse for his actions,” Mohan added.
A First Information Report (FIR) for murder has been filed under applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Bhore police station, and investigations are ongoing.
“The precise motivation behind the murder of the six-year-old has not been disclosed by the accused thus far. We have sent the body for post-mortem analysis. A knife used in the commission of the crime was also seized from the suspect,” Mohan stated.
