Gurugram, Feb 23 (NationPress) The police in Gurugram have taken into custody four individuals for their alleged involvement in the murder of a 21-year-old man and for attempting to eliminate evidence, as reported on Sunday.
As per police reports, on the night of February 16-17, authorities received a tip about a body found in a secluded area near Begumpur Khatola village.
Upon arrival, the police conducted an investigation with the assistance of Forensic Science Laboratory, fingerprint experts, and dog squad teams, and the remains were placed in the mortuary for identification.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of the police, including the review of CCTV footage, the deceased was identified as Pranav Kumar from Madhubani, Bihar.
On February 19, Pranav's father filed a complaint with law enforcement stating that his son worked at a company in Gurugram and was living with two friends on a rented basis.
On February 15, Pranav had informed his father about a dispute with his roommates regarding expense sharing, which prompted the complaint after the police notified him of his son's body being found.
Authorities discovered that the victim had been murdered by his landlord and his roommates.
Following the complaint, a case was opened at the Badshahpur police station in Gurugram. During the investigation, a crime branch team from Sector-40 apprehended the four suspects on Saturday along Bahrampur Road.
The suspects were identified as Rohit from Khandsa village in Gurugram, and Satish, Vijay Kumar, and Brijesh Kumar, all hailing from Uttar Pradesh.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the victim rented a room from the accused, Rohit. On the night of the incident, Rohit discovered Pranav sleeping in a locked room and assumed he was intoxicated. After breaking the lock, he found Pranav's lifeless body.
“Fearing police inquiry due to the absence of Pranav’s identification, Rohit and the other three suspects placed Pranav's body in a vehicle and disposed of it in a remote area to obliterate evidence,” stated Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
