Gurugram, April 23 (NationPress) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that residents of Gurugram will receive a total of 670 million litres per day (MLD) of water supply after May 31.

He instructed officials to ensure this provision to avoid any public inconvenience during the summer months. Furthermore, 400 new electric buses are set to be introduced in Gurugram to improve public transportation.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while presiding over the 14th meeting of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) held in Gurugram on Wednesday.

During the meeting, a development budget nearing Rs 3,034.82 crore was sanctioned to fast-track infrastructure and civic enhancements. Industry Minister Rao Narbir Singh and MLAs Tejpal Tanwar, Bimla Chaudhary, and Mukesh Sharma also attended.

Highlighting the urgency of timely project completion, the Chief Minister urged officials to hasten ongoing initiatives to ensure public benefits without delay. While assessing the implementation status of previous GMDA decisions, he ordered officials to issue a new notice to the garbage collection firm Ecogreen and take stringent measures, including asset attachment.

"If any officer or employee is found involved in this issue, appropriate action should be taken against them," he stated. Expressing concern over setbacks in rainwater harvesting projects, the Chief Minister admonished relevant officials and demanded tenders be finalized within the next ten days.

Addressing the recurring issue of waterlogging in villages adjacent to the Najafgarh drain, he instructed officials to devise a comprehensive action plan to address the problem. The meeting also reported the commencement of construction for a new stadium in Wazirabad, anticipated to be completed by June 2026.

Chief Minister Saini reviewed the progress of a proposed 700-bed hospital in Gurugram and urged officials to expedite all related procedures for timely execution. He also evaluated the development of a new bus stand, with officials indicating that tenders for this project would be issued within the next month.

CM Saini was briefed on several forthcoming infrastructure initiatives in Gurugram. Flyovers are planned for Sectors 45, 46, 51, and 52, with an estimated cost of Rs 52 crore, and tenders are expected by May 31. Additional flyovers will be constructed at the intersection of Sectors 85, 86, 89, and 90, estimated at Rs 59 crore, with the Detailed Project Report (DPR) due by April 30.

Moreover, administrative approval of Rs 634 crore has been granted for upgrading the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurugram. Studies are currently being conducted to evaluate and plan the strengthening of the stadium's infrastructure.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister learned that the SPR road from Vatika Chowk to NH 48 CPR will be upgraded. Also, about Rs 116 crore has been approved for enhancing the main pumping station at Dhanwapur, with tenders to be issued by April 30.

Additionally, two 100 MLD water treatment plants will be constructed at Chandu and Basai. Tenders valued at approximately Rs 119 crore have been invited for a master storm water drainage system in Sectors 76-80. It was also reported that tenders have been released for a 120 MLD sewage treatment plant in Bahrampur and a 100 MLD STP in Dhanwapur. Furthermore, two new 100 MLD STPs will be established in Sector 107. To accommodate future demands, the current 1300 mm MS pipeline spanning 11.5 km will be replaced at an estimated cost of Rs 110 crore.

"The old master sewer line will also be upgraded, and the city’s sewerage system will be made silt-free at a cost of Rs 134 crore. Three culverts will be constructed under the Delhi-Rewari railway line on the master water supply line, with an allocation of Rs 52 crore for this purpose," the Chief Minister stated.

Regarding various other projects, the Chief Minister directed officials to commence work at the earliest and ordered the removal of obstacles hindering the implementation of developmental initiatives.
