Chandigarh, Feb 4 (NationPress) In a significant move to support arhityas (grain commission agents), the Haryana Cabinet approved a reimbursement plan to address the weight loss caused by moisture during the Rabi procurement season for 2024-25.
The state government is set to cover an expenditure of Rs 3,09,95,541 to offset the losses faced by the arthiyas.
The Cabinet meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, also sanctioned amendments to the Haryana Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act of 1961.
This amendment removes a specific parcel of land in Shamilat Deh, previously leased out before the implementation of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Rules in 1964 by the Collector under the Haryana Utilisation of Lands Act of 1949, from the jurisdiction of Shamilat Deh.
Consequently, the clause regarding the leasing of such lands has been approved for removal. Furthermore, under the Act, it had been mentioned that the Gram Panchayat could sell land up to 500 square yards occupied by unauthorized built houses at a rate not less than the market price.
The Cabinet has now approved that the pricing for such land sales will be determined in the rules.
Previously, the authority to grant approvals in these matters rested with the state government. It has now been resolved that the Director Panchayats will grant approval instead. The Cabinet also endorsed the Haryana Wild Life (Protection) Rules of 2024.
Under these new regulations, criteria have been set for obtaining permits related to wildlife. The Haryana Wildlife (Protection) Rules, established in 1974, have been revoked in accordance with the Wildlife (Protection) Act of 1972, and the Haryana Wildlife (Protection) Rules of 2024 have been ratified by the government, as stated in an official announcement.
The Haryana Wildlife (Protection) Rules of 2024 outline the guidelines and processes for the public regarding how to obtain permits and approvals from the Department of Wildlife. These rules detail processes and prescribed formats for permits related to wildlife education, scientific research, or management. They also specify the procedures and formats for granting permits for the conservation of identified plants for particular purposes.
Additionally, under these regulations, a complete procedure and designated format have been set for individuals wishing to conduct surveys or investigations on land within sanctuary boundaries. The rules also detail the registration process for individuals holding arms and outline the associated procedures and formats.
The implementation of the Haryana Wildlife (Protection) Rules of 2024 is aimed at making the permit acquisition process from the Department of Wildlife more transparent and user-friendly.
