Mumbai, Feb 4 (NationPress) Renowned social activist Anna Hazare expressed his commendation for the people of Maharashtra on Tuesday, recognizing that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has successfully gained the public's trust.

"The NDA has fostered confidence among the populace," he remarked, commending the NDA’s influence in the state's political arena.

Reflecting on his past collaboration with former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Hazare recalled the initial stages of their partnership.

"At first, Arvind was aligned with me, but as power and money began to distort his perspective, everything changed," Hazare stated in an interview with IANS.

He elaborated that when Kejriwal turned his attention to managing the liquor trade and strayed from their shared values, he decided to part ways.

"I was approached to join the party, but I declined; I will not be part of it," Hazare asserted.

Regarding Kejriwal and Sisodia’s legal challenges, Hazare firmly declared, "Those who engage in wrongful acts must face imprisonment. Our nation operates under the law."

He expressed his trust in India’s legal framework, emphasizing that the country is governed by the principles of justice, and anyone who violates these must face the repercussions.

Hazare elaborated on the notion of Dharma in India, stressing that, despite the existence of numerous political factions, the supreme authority remains the Constitution.

"Our nation is ruled by the law and the Constitution, which preserves its integrity," he commented.

On the topic of 'One Nation, One Election,' Hazare remarked, "I am unsure of the true intentions behind this, so I cannot comment on it at this time."

In conclusion, when queried about the departures of Kumar Vishwas and Prashant Bhushan from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Hazare defended their entitlement to express their thoughts in a democratic society.

"Everyone is entitled to share their views in a democracy," he stated.

"However, if someone utters something inappropriate, society will take corrective action. If they choose the wrong path, the people will guide them back," he added.
