New Delhi, Feb 21 (NationPress) Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed his astonishment regarding the foreign interference aimed at manipulating Indian elections, asserting that nationalism should be regarded as the primary allegiance of every citizen. He emphasized the need to unveil those who colluded in this assault on democracy.

Speaking at the Global Conference of Meditation Leaders, he referenced remarks made by former US President Donald Trump, highlighting that the democratic integrity of the nation was targeted to compromise the purity of our electoral process.

Dhankhar pointed to disclosures from the US government about the involvement of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Indian elections, revealing that significant funds were allocated to sway voter engagement. He stated, “It is indeed true that a substantial amount was provided, and it was not insignificant.”

“We must eradicate such plots by identifying their origins, as advised in Chanakya Niti,” he remarked.

“It is crucial to reveal the identities of those who permitted this attack on democratic principles, as it is our national responsibility to challenge the forces that aimed to undermine our electoral integrity,” he added, asserting that India can only evolve into a ‘Viksit Bharat’ when there exists a peaceful environment conducive to meditation.

He commended the initiatives taken by the Narendra Modi government regarding welfare programs such as providing toilets in every household, establishing gas connections, ensuring piped water supply, enhancing internet access, and improving healthcare and education services, all of which foster a favorable atmosphere for the well-being and mental tranquility of citizens.

“However, there are still individuals who seek to criticize everything,” he remarked, noting that imperfections in systems are a natural precursor to societal advancement.

Later, he chaired the closing ceremony of the 5th Rajya Sabha Internship Program at the Vice-President's Enclave, reaffirming his faith in the robustness of national institutions like the Election Commission and the Judiciary.

“Trust in our institutions, for they are resilient, whether it’s our Election Commission or the Judiciary. The Election Commission is deemed faulty when you lose but flawless when you win; what type of logic is that?” he queried, subtly criticizing politicians who blame the electoral body for their losses.
