Jaipur, Feb 4 (NationPress) The murder investigation of a beautician from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, who was tragically killed last year, has been officially transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further scrutiny.

The beautician, Anita, whose untimely death on October 30, 2024 sent shockwaves throughout Rajasthan, was a pivotal case in the region.

Initially, the local police submitted a charge sheet to the court on January 30, 2025, implicating only Ghulamuddin and his spouse, Abida. However, a recent FIR filed by the CBI on Monday has also included property dealer Tayyab Ansari and Anita’s friend Sunita as suspects.

Concerns have arisen regarding Ansari’s alleged political ties, as the victim's family claims his influence obstructed a proper investigation. A CBI team is anticipated to arrive in Jodhpur shortly to commence their inquiry.

Last year, the victim’s family had refrained from collecting her remains for several days, insisting on a CBI investigation. Following 21 days of protests, an agreement was made on November 19, with public representatives present, which included the demand for a CBI probe.

On November 28, 2024, the state government formally recommended the case be handed over to the CBI. However, when the agency did not register an FIR, complainant Chaudhary approached the High Court.

The court responded by issuing a notice to the state government for clarification. During the proceedings, the government sought additional time to respond, with the next hearing set for February 27.

In the meantime, on January 21, the Home Ministry issued a notification regarding the case. On February 3, the CBI officially registered an FIR, designating Deputy Superintendent Pranab Das to oversee the investigation.

From the beginning, the police's management of the case faced scrutiny, with allegations of arbitrary actions and mismanagement.

The initial charge sheet only mentioned Ghulamuddin and Abida, while the lack of attention towards Tayyab Ansari raised significant concerns.

With the CBI now in charge, the victim’s family remains hopeful for a comprehensive investigation that will resolve lingering questions and achieve justice for Anita, according to local residents.
