Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah remarked: "Each family that lost a loved one in the tragic incidents in Yellapur of Uttara Kannada district and Sindhanur of Raichur district will receive Rs 3 lakh in compensation."

"Moreover, we will ensure that those injured in the accidents receive free medical treatment. Speeding, recklessness, and negligence are significant factors behind such accidents. I urge everyone to drive safely and with caution," CM Siddaramaiah emphasized.

Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H. D. Kumaraswamy expressed his sorrow regarding the fatalities.

He stated, "The occurrence of two devastating accidents in the state leading to the loss of 14 lives has profoundly distressed me. The incident near Arebail in Yellapur of Uttara Kannada district, which resulted in 10 fatalities, and the road crash near Sindhanur in Raichur district, where four individuals, including three students, lost their lives, fills me with great sadness."

"May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and I pray that God grants the grieving families strength to cope with their loss," he added.

Kumaraswamy pointed out, "Poor road infrastructure, reckless driving, driving while fatigued, and traffic rule violations are prominent contributors to such accidents. Authorities must focus more on these matters to avert the tragic loss of lives."

Former Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai expressed his sorrow: "Hearing about the tragic loss of ten individuals from Savanur taluk in Haveri district in a lorry accident near Arebail in Yellapur of Uttara Kannada district is heartbreaking."

"Others have sustained injuries in this incident and are receiving treatment in the hospital. I call upon the state government to ensure suitable compensation for the deceased's families and cover the medical expenses for the injured," Bommai urged.

"I pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls and for God to provide their families with the fortitude to withstand their loss," Bommai expressed.

In total, 14 individuals, including three students, tragically lost their lives, and 25 others sustained injuries in these two separate incidents this morning.
