Patna, Feb 8 (NationPress) The Chief of Jan Suraaj Party, Prashant Kishor, has launched a scathing critique against the NDA government, condemning the recent Budget allocations for Bihar.
He highlighted the stark contrast between Bihar's funding and the extensive projects being implemented in other states, notably Gujarat.
Kishor's comments were made on a Friday when 30 MPs from Bihar met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to show appreciation for the Union Budget's allocations intended for the state.
The Union Budget 2025 outlines funding for new greenfield airports, significant infrastructure developments, and the formation of a Makhana Board aimed at boosting the production and marketing of foxnuts, a vital agricultural product in Bihar.
While addressing the Yuva Samvad programme at Bihar Satyagraha Ashram, LCT Ghat, Patna, Kishor stated, "With a national budget of Rs 45 lakh crore, if Bihar receives merely Rs 10,000 crore, what is noteworthy about that?"
He accused the NDA government of misleading the citizens of Bihar, asserting that while Gujarat is welcoming major industrial projects like semiconductor and steel factories, Bihar's compensation is limited to a Makhana Board and two proposed airports.
"Despite Bihar's MPs bolstering the Central government, what we are offered are insignificant projects like the Makhana Board and two airports. Other states, however, are benefiting from substantial infrastructure projects such as space centres and steel factories. This is unacceptable to the people of Bihar," he emphasized.
Kishor further challenged the NDA's assertions by addressing the inequality in airport infrastructure: "Andhra Pradesh, which has one-third of Bihar's population, boasts eight airports, yet Bihar has only two newly announced, without any genuine advancement. Even Patna Airport is in worse shape than a bus station," he added.
The remarks from the Jan Suraaj Party Chief contribute to the escalating discourse regarding the Budgetary allocations for Bihar, as political figures continue to express contrasting opinions on whether the state is receiving its equitable share of central funding.
