Amethi, Feb 8 (NationPress) With the BJP holding a significant advantage in the Delhi Assembly elections, Congress leader Kishori Lal Sharma expressed that the election results might have differed if there had been a coalition between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress.

In his remarks on the election outcome, Sharma pointed out that the Congress has been performing admirably in Delhi, especially in terms of boosting its vote share.

"The Congress is thriving in the national Capital. An alliance could have changed the results," he remarked.

Sharma's statements indicate a belief that the absence of collaboration between the two parties has influenced the overall election results.

Additionally, Sharma shared insights into why the AAP is lagging in Delhi, attributing it to the party's perceived shortcomings.

"The electorate is quite astute and informed. They do not solely depend on one person. The individual who positioned himself as the ‘Aam Aadmi’ has reached a level where his reputation has taken a hit. This has led to their current predicament," Sharma noted, alluding to AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and the consequences of his changing political image.

Reflecting on the broader dynamics involving Congress and its affiliations with other political entities, Sharma recognized the existing division, stating that the party's organizational strength needs improvement.

"We are persistently working on reinforcing the organization. These results won’t discourage us; instead, they will act as a valuable lesson. We will strive harder, engage with the public, and get ready for the upcoming Assembly elections," Sharma added.

Sharma also commented on the Milkipur Assembly bypoll, where Congress backed the Samajwadi Party (SP).

"We stood with Akhilesh Yadav," he concluded.

Regarding the election results, the BJP appears set for a substantial majority in Delhi, leading with 48 seats against AAP's 22. Despite a narrowing vote share gap, with BJP at 44.76 percent and AAP at 43.77 percent, it seems that the BJP will maintain its dominance.

In Milkipur, BJP candidate Chandrabhanu Paswan made history, achieving a remarkable victory margin of 42,886 votes, breaking previous records in a constituency with a legacy dating back to 1967.
