Bhopal, Feb 23 (NationPress) As Madhya Pradesh gears up for the Global Investment Summit (GIS) with anticipation for new economic and industrial advancements, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the event's esteemed chief guest, touched down in Bhopal on Sunday evening.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav welcomed PM Modi at Raja Bhoj airport, expressing that his presence will inject new vigor into the development trajectory of Madhya Pradesh.
PM Modi is scheduled to lead a meeting with BJP leaders at Kushabhau Thakare Auditorium, where all BJP MPs, MLAs, and the party’s organizational leaders will be present.
According to Chief Minister Yadav, during the meeting, PM Modi will impart his experiences and offer valuable advice for the state’s progressive development.
“We are privileged to meet him and seek PM Modi’s insights,” expressed the Chief Minister.
For the first time, PM Modi will spend the night at Raj Bhavan, making him the inaugural Prime Minister to do so in Madhya Pradesh.
“This marks a historic occasion for Madhya Pradesh, as the first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, visited Raj Bhavan but stayed elsewhere. Hence, this is a significant moment,” noted the Chief Minister.
On Monday, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the two-day Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025 in Bhopal.
The GIS aims to position Madhya Pradesh as a global investment hub and will feature departmental summits and specialized sessions on Pharma and Medical Devices, Transport and Logistics, Industry, Skill Development, Tourism, and MSMEs, among others. It will also host international sessions such as the Global South conference, Latin America and Caribbean sessions, and special discussions for key partner nations.
Three significant industrial exhibitions will also take place during the summit. The auto show will highlight Madhya Pradesh’s automotive strengths and future mobility solutions, while the textile and fashion expo will showcase the state’s prowess in both traditional and modern textile production.
The ‘One District-One Product’ (ODOP) Village will feature the state's distinctive craftsmanship and cultural legacy. Representatives from over 60 countries, along with officials from various international organizations, more than 300 prominent industry leaders from India, and policymakers will convene for the summit.
