New Delhi, Feb 4 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday highlighted notable achievements from the last decade, claiming to have lifted 25 crore individuals out of poverty through focused governance.

Responding to the Motion of Thanks on the President's address in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi emphasized the construction of crores of pucca houses and toilets, alleviating years of hardship for citizens.

4 crore individuals have received pucca homes. More than 12 crore toilets have been established to ensure poor women encounter no difficulties. Even after 75 years of independence, approximately 70-75 percent (16 crores) of the population lacked water tap connections. Our government has provided water connections to 12 crore families in just five years,” he remarked.

PM Modi further explained that the JAM Trinity has benefited the populace, with Rs 40 lakh crore transferred to the accounts of impoverished citizens during the NDA's tenure via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

“We also eliminated the names of 10 crore ineligible individuals who were receiving government benefits while not even being born, redirecting these advantages to the deserving, which saved us around Rs 3 lakh crore,” he said.

“Utilizing the Jam portal, Rs 1.15 lakh was conserved. Under the Swachhta Abhiyan, Rs 2,300 crore was generated through waste sales. The implementation of ethanol blending has reduced fuel costs and saved Rs 1 lakh crore, which we reinvested for the Janata Janardan and national development,” PM Modi elaborated.

In further discussing the Budget, he noted that prior to 2014, the infrastructure budget was Rs 1 lakh 80k crore, which has now escalated to Rs 11 lakh crore.

“Thanks to the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, impoverished families are saving approximately Rs 1.3 lakh crore annually. With Jan Aushdhi Kendra, medical expenditures have been reduced by Rs 30,000 crore,” the Prime Minister clarified.

According to a UNICEF survey, families have saved around Rs 70,000 under the Swachhta Abhiyan.

“Due to our concentrated initiative on LED bulbs and energy efficiency, the price of LED bulbs has plummeted from Rs 400 to Rs 40. Citizens have collectively saved Rs 20,000 from this,” he stated.
