Wayanad, Feb 8 (NationPress) Congress General Secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed her congratulations to all the victors of the Delhi Assembly elections on Saturday, where the BJP decisively defeated the AAP to reclaim power after nearly thirty years, emphasizing that the electorate had opted for change.

She was present in her constituency when the election results began to emerge, and when approached by the media, she stated that she would provide her comments later.

As the BJP secured a comfortable victory, Priyanka Gandhi was straightforward in her response.

"It was evident from the onset of the campaign that the public was seeking a transformation in Delhi. The people desired change and they have cast their votes for it. I extend my congratulations to the winners, and for the rest of us, we must intensify our efforts," she remarked.

The BJP was projected to win 48 out of the 70 seats, while the AAP was leading in 22 seats; however, the Congress failed to secure any seats in the national capital, similar to the previous two elections.

Interestingly, at the beginning of the vote counting, the Congress was ahead in two seats, but that lead quickly dissipated as the day went on.

While Kejriwal maintained his dominance in Delhi, the AAP also saw a dynamic unit emerge in Kerala.

Leading figures from civil society joined the AAP, which attracted various apolitical individuals from different segments of the state.

However, as time passed, internal conflicts arose within the Kerala unit, rendering it nearly non-existent.

Yet, Kejriwal received backing from Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, as both shared common adversaries - the Congress and the BJP.

When Vijayan and his cabinet protested in the national capital against the marginalization of the state by the federal government, Kejriwal's presence at the meeting garnered significant attention.

Now, with Kejriwal and his party facing defeat, Vijayan might experience more repercussions than the Congress.
