Rohtak, Feb 21 (NationPress) A significant number of farmers nationwide are reaping the benefits of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Their joy is palpable when speaking with them. Farmers in Haryana's Rohtak express that since the initiation of the scheme, their financial situation has improved, providing them substantial relief in their agricultural endeavors.
In an interview with IANS, farmer Jagmendra remarked, "The Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme introduced by the Prime Minister is remarkable. It offers numerous advantages. It aids in purchasing fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, and covers various household or farming expenses. Since the installments commenced, we've seen a tangible benefit. To date, 18 installments have been disbursed. Occasionally, there are delays, but the scheme remains advantageous," he mentioned.
"Previously, we faced numerous challenges. We struggled to procure fertilizers, seeds, or pesticides on time and often had to borrow funds or find alternative solutions. Now, the money is directly credited to our accounts, enabling timely purchases. The burden of borrowing has significantly decreased, and this scheme has alleviated many issues for farmers," Jagmendra added.
Another farmer, Shiv Kumar, stated, "The Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme is outstanding. Funds are directly deposited into our accounts, which is incredibly helpful. This initiative is advantageous for farmers as it provides necessary funds for fertilizers, seeds, and other crucial agricultural expenses. Formerly, arranging money for these needs was a challenge, but now, this scheme offers considerable relief."
Farmer Manjeet shared his perspective, saying, "The Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme is exceptional. It significantly benefits farmers, especially those who are economically disadvantaged, assisting them in managing their expenses. I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister for this initiative. Prior to this scheme, it was tough to secure funds for fertilizers and seeds. We had to gather money before we could proceed with farming. Now, the funds are credited directly to our accounts, which is highly beneficial. Previously, we had to navigate through middlemen and officials, often without receiving the full amount. Now, the funds go straight into our accounts, accessible for our expenses. We have received 18 installments thus far, and the 19th installment is on its way. This is an incredible scheme, and all relevant information is available online, making everything transparent. I extend my thanks to the Prime Minister for this initiative."
Manjeet further suggested that while the scheme is highly beneficial, increasing the amount would enhance its support for farmers.
Upendra also highlighted the scheme's positive effects, stating, "The Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme yields numerous benefits. The direct deposit into our bank accounts is its most commendable feature. Previously, middlemen exploited farmers, but now, the funds reach us directly, eliminating the need for intermediaries."
Dalveer Singh, an employee in the agriculture department, informed IANS, "The Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme is commendable. It provides substantial assistance to farmers. Each farmer receives Rs 6,000 annually. They can apply through the official website, where all necessary documents are submitted online. We then verify these documents. The information is uploaded to our portal, and then we approve them. Farmers can apply on this site to avail themselves of the scheme's benefits."
He added that there are no specific eligibility criteria for the scheme; all landowners can benefit. However, government employees, pensioners (with pensions exceeding Rs 10,000), and doctors are excluded. The benefits are transferred directly to farmers' bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). In prior programs, farmers encountered numerous obstacles, but these have now been resolved. This is a fantastic scheme, and the Rs 6,000 annually can be utilized for fertilizers, pesticides, and other farming necessities.
Dalveer Singh emphasized that the scheme aims to empower farmers. The funds enable them to enhance their agricultural activities. Previously, farmers struggled to afford fertilizers and seeds promptly, but now they receive Rs 2,000 every four months, which is incredibly helpful," he added. Farmers who owned land prior to February 1, 2019, or inherited land following their father's death (as long as the matter is not in litigation) are eligible to apply for this scheme.
