Saharanpur, Feb 21 (NationPress) Farmers throughout India, particularly in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur, are expressing their joy as the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana, a key welfare initiative introduced by the Modi-led Central government, is set to be deposited directly into their bank accounts on February 24.
This scheme provides an annual transfer of Rs 6,000 to farmers nationwide, significantly aiding them in meeting agricultural demands and acquiring essential inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and other farming tools.
Farmers from Saharanpur shared their experiences with IANS regarding the advantages of the PM-KISAN scheme.
They stated that the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi ensures timely access to vital agricultural resources, enhancing their financial stability.
Farmers take pride in this initiative as it marks the first time such direct financial support has been offered, addressing their challenges effectively.
A local farmer, Pramod Saini, mentioned to IANS: "I receive Rs 6,000 annually. This assistance allows me to purchase seeds, fertilizers, and water for my crops, promoting diverse agricultural practices. The funds are deposited straight into my bank account, eliminating middlemen. This is a commendable move by the Narendra Modi-led Union government. It also enables me to buy essential household items."
Another farmer, Ompal Saini, shared: "I have received Rs 36,000 so far. This welfare initiative by PM Modi has transformed my family's circumstances. I am grateful for the Rs 2,000 received in three yearly installments, which are directly credited to my bank account without the need for middlemen."
Krishi Vigyan Kendra expert, I.K. Kushwaha, told IANS: "I commend the PM-KISAN scheme introduced by the Narendra Modi government. It has been a game changer for farmers like me, ensuring timely financial support for agricultural needs."
"The direct transfer of Kisan Samman Nidhi installments to farmers' accounts is an excellent initiative, as it eliminates middlemen and ensures that farmers receive fair compensation for their hard work," Kushwaha added.
Agriculture Director Rakesh Maurya reported that 281,000 farmers in the Saharanpur district have benefited from the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme thus far.
Maurya noted that this initiative aids farmers in procuring fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, and other agricultural necessities.
Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, funds are directly transferred to each farmer's account, facilitating timely agricultural activities, he stated.
