Johannesburg, Feb 2 (NationPress) Durban’s Super Giants concluded their Season 3 journey on a high note with a nail-biting 11-run DLS triumph against Joburg Super Kings at the Wanderers.

Consequently, JSK finished fourth in the group stage standings and will compete against third-placed Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the Eliminator at Centurion on Wednesday.

DSG's Heinrich Klaasen finally provided the traveling fans with a reason to celebrate, scoring a remarkable 76 not out off 47 deliveries. In doing so, Klaasen became the first batsman to surpass 1000 runs in SA20.

Heinrich formed two strong partnerships, accumulating 64 runs off 43 balls with Kane Williamson (22) and an unbroken 70 off 43 balls with Wiaan Mulder (30 not out), lifting DSG to a total of 173/4.

Super Kings pacer Lutho Sipamla showcased another strong performance with an impressive four-over spell of 1-12, which included the prized wicket of Australian allrounder Marcus Stoinis.

JSK’s chase was briefly halted by rain while they were at 31/1 after 3.1 overs. Once play resumed, JSK's innings was shortened to 16 overs with a revised target set at 147.

After the restart, the home side struggled to maintain momentum, with DSG leg-spinner Noor Ahmad delivering a fantastic spell of 3-25 that hindered JSK's progress.

DSG also provided Rookie CJ King with his debut in SA20, where the young player made an impact by dismissing England’s double white-ball world champion Moeen Ali.

However, this brought Donovan Ferreira to the crease, who went on to hit the fastest half-century of Season 3 in just 21 balls, reducing the target to 17 off the last four deliveries.

Nonetheless, DSG allrounder Dwaine Pretorius kept his composure, taking out Ferreira and Sipamla in consecutive deliveries to secure the victory.
