ISL 2024-25: NorthEast United Look to Bounce Back Against Struggling Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Dec 22 (NationPress) Hyderabad FC will face NorthEast United FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium on Monday.

Hyderabad, Dec 22 (NationPress) Hyderabad FC is set to host NorthEast United FC as both teams clash in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium this Monday.

Hyderabad FC has maintained an unbeaten streak against the Highlanders, with a record of 6 wins and 3 draws in their last nine encounters, marking the longest such unbeaten run against any rival in the league.

NorthEast United FC approaches this match with two wins and a draw from their last five games. However, they also suffered two consecutive losses and head coach Juan Pedro Benali will be eager to turn things around with a favorable outcome on the road. They currently sit in eighth place on the points table, having accumulated 15 points from 11 matches.

On the other hand, Hyderabad FC is positioned at 12th place with just seven points, having secured two wins and a draw across 11 fixtures. They recently parted ways with head coach Thangboi Singto and are aiming for improved performance in the remainder of the season.

This season, NorthEast United FC has relinquished 12 points from winning positions, the highest in the league. In contrast, Hyderabad FC is among only three teams that have not dropped points after leading. The visitors must be wary of this trend, especially since they have conceded 18 goals in 11 matches this season. Meanwhile, Hyderabad FC also needs to enhance their offensive display, having scored only seven goals in ISL 2024-25, which is the second-lowest tally in the league, trailing only Mohammedan SC with five.

The interim head coach of Hyderabad FC, Shameel Chembakath, commended his players' mindset in preparation for this match.

“We have conducted four training sessions. They have gone well. The players have responded positively and exhibit a commendable attitude,” stated Chembakath.

NorthEast United’s head coach Benali emphasized the strengths of Hyderabad FC in the pre-match press conference.

“We have been preparing diligently. This is a crucial match for us following two defeats. We must remain vigilant, as Hyderabad FC is a team that creates numerous chances and possesses significant speed,” Benali remarked.

In their previous encounters, Hyderabad FC has achieved six victories against NorthEast United FC, who have won once in their ten matchups, while three matches ended in draws.
