Mumbai, Feb 3 (NationPress) Second-seed Rebecca Marino from Canada advanced to the Round of 16, while India’s Sahaja Yamalapalli faced defeat against Lanlana Tararudee on the third day of the Mumbai Open WTA 125 Series event, held at the Cricket Club of India on Monday.

Rebecca Marino showcased a dominant performance, easily overcoming Sara Bejlek from the Czech Republic with a score of 6-0, 6-2. Her powerful groundstrokes and effective serve allowed Marino to progress into the Round of 16, solidifying her status as a strong contender for the title.

In another Round of 32 match, Mananchaya Sawangkaew of Thailand delivered a superb performance, defeating Slovenia’s Dalila Jakupovic by a score of 6-3, 6-1. Sawangkaew's aggressive tactics and precision left Jakupovic struggling throughout the match.
