Bengaluru, April 24 (NationPress) The Karnataka cabinet convened a special meeting in Chamarajanagar district on Thursday, passing a resolution that strongly condemns the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and demands a detailed inquiry into the failures that allowed it to occur.

"Our government vehemently condemns the terrorist attack targeting innocent civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. We extend our sincere condolences on behalf of the people of Karnataka to all the victims' families," stated the resolution.

"Such terrorist acts are atrocious violations of humanity. The entire nation needs to come together to eradicate all forms of terrorism," it continued.

The resolution also called for a comprehensive and appropriate investigation into the security lapses.

"We urge a thorough investigation into the lapses that led to this tragic event. Our government calls upon the Union government to implement all necessary measures to prevent future incidents of this nature," the resolution expressed.

Former Congress MP D. K. Suresh, brother of Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar, stated: “These terrorist attacks must be regarded as abhorrent acts against humanity. The entire nation must unite in the fight against terrorism. We stand in solidarity with the Central government’s initiatives."

Suresh visited the home of Bharat Bhushan, who lost his life in Pahalgam, to offer his condolences to the grieving family.

"The nation takes precedence; everything else is secondary. We must unite against this attack and combat terrorism. We must ensure our citizens' safety in the future; every life is valuable," he remarked.

Regarding the intelligence shortcomings, he stated: “I will refrain from commenting. The Union government must undertake decisive actions. The Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister are engaging in ongoing discussions with security forces. It is imperative that everyone supports the government during this critical time. The Congress party will align with the government’s decisions.”

On the diplomatic efforts made by the Union government, he commented, “Decisions alone may not yield results, but we welcome any actions the government decides to take.”
