Patna, Jan 22 (NationPress) Jitan Ram Manjhi, the leader of Hindustani Awam Morcha and Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, has firmly dismissed any plans to resign from the Central Cabinet.
He addressed the false narratives spread by various online platforms and news channels, asserting that they incorrectly claimed he intended to step down.
Manjhi elaborated on his previous comments, which had been taken out of context.
During a meeting in Munger, he had stated, “Your delays are causing me to miss my flight, and I would have to leave the cabinet.”
He clarified that this remark was situational and had no bearing on any resignation intentions.
Affirming his allegiance to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Manjhi said, “I want to make it abundantly clear that I will stand by Prime Minister Narendra Modi until my last breath. We are all currently striving for the betterment of the nation and Bihar.”
He accused certain media outlets of attempting to foster discord within the government, allegedly under the influence of opposition forces.
Manjhi further cautioned these media outlets to halt such actions, threatening legal repercussions, including complaints to the Press Council, if they continued to disseminate falsehoods.
During a public gathering in Munger, he expressed his dissatisfaction regarding the neglect of HAM in seat-sharing negotiations during elections, insisting that his party deserves seats that accurately reflect its level of support and significance.
Manjhi staunchly defended his party's importance, asserting that HAM has a considerable grassroots following, referencing the attendance at his public events as validation. “Do they believe we have no presence? They perceive us as insignificant. However, those who doubt should witness the substantial turnout at my meetings. I have hosted several public events recently, and the attendance speaks volumes,” he stated. “When the people are with us, and I possess votes, why were we not allocated seats? My request for seats is not for personal gain but for the advancement of the Dalit and Mahadalit communities,” he declared.
Manjhi mentioned his willingness to contest the Assembly elections for 20 seats, which is notably fewer than the 40 seats sought by his party workers. He warned that he would not accept less than 20 seats in the forthcoming elections. “If our 20 MLAs are elected, we will ensure that all work aimed at supporting Dalits is accomplished,” he emphasized.
