New Delhi, Feb 21 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya criticized Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav on Friday for labeling the state budget as “hollow.” In response to these comments, Maurya suggested that Yadav appears to have developed a “BJP phobia.”
Speaking with IANS, the UP Deputy CM remarked, “Akhilesh Yadav seems to have developed a BJP phobia. He has become vocal and anxious. Observing the country’s and the state’s budget, he appears worried and shaken by the wave of development, which is akin to the flowing Ganga.”
“The enormous turnout at the Maha Kumbh, where people are gathering in large numbers, indicates the decline of the Samajwadi Party’s politics of appeasement. The collapse of their Muslim-centric politics is now evident,” he added.
In response to the charge sheet filed by the police regarding the Sambhal violence, Maurya commended law enforcement for their decisive actions.
“I commend the police for successfully identifying the criminals. Their efforts to thwart violence, including attempts by Samajwadi Party goons to incite communal riots in Uttar Pradesh, have been effective. This is commendable, and I support it. However, the police should maintain their commitment,” he stated.
Meanwhile, during a visit to a hostel in Raebareli, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi interacted with Dalit students and expressed his disappointment over Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati’s unwillingness to join the INDIA alliance to combat the BJP in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Gandhi accused her of facilitating the BJP's victory.
In response, Maurya sharply questioned the credibility of the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
“First, Rahul Gandhi should clarify why he accepted foreign funds and tried to prevent Narendra Modi from becoming Prime Minister,” Maurya asserted.
“Regarding Congress, Mayawati, and others, we believe that SP, BSP, and Congress are fundamentally the same, merely different facets of the same issue. Whether they compete or collaborate, the lotus (BJP) will always bloom and drive development,” he remarked.
