Patna, March 12 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, launched a fierce critique of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday, insisting on his immediate resignation due to alleged disrespectful behavior towards women and erratic conduct in the Bihar Assembly and Council.
“We now feel sympathy for Nitish Kumar. His repeated speeches and actions in the House unambiguously indicate he is not in a sound state of mind. For the benefit of Bihar, he should voluntarily step down,” the RJD leader expressed.
“We even wish for his well-being, as his behavior raises significant concerns. It appears he is not fully aware of his actions, and it is perplexing how he is managing the state's governance,” Yadav remarked.
He also charged Nitish Kumar with disrespecting women. “He continually makes inappropriate gestures in the House. We are collecting video evidence from the Assembly to substantiate this. He even gestured towards a female leader from his own party recently,” he claimed.
“He ought to resign and consider retreating to an ashram for some rest,” Yadav suggested.
The Bihar Legislative Council experienced considerable drama on Wednesday when former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and other opposition leaders staged a walkout and protest against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Shortly thereafter, Tejashwi Yadav joined the protest and launched a vehement attack on Nitish Kumar, calling for his resignation.
In response to Nitish Kumar's assertion that he dismissed Tejashwi Yadav from the position of Deputy Chief Minister, Yadav stated, “He (Nitish Kumar) frequently claims he has removed individuals, but the reality is, he himself resigned. He continually targets my father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, but Lalu Prasad was an MP and MLA long before Nitish even entered the political arena. I have also had the opportunity to place Nitish in the CM’s chair on two occasions.”
Regarding the ongoing political discussions around Holi and Ramzan celebrations, Tejashwi adopted a unifying perspective: “Everyone should celebrate their festivals together, and there should be no issues regarding this.”
The JD(U) has yet to officially respond, but party insiders regard the opposition’s protest as a desperate electoral tactic. The RJD and its allies are promoting the narrative that Nitish Kumar is no longer fit to govern Bihar.
