New Delhi, March 14 (NationPress) The prominent consumer electronics company Nothing announced on Friday its intention to further expand its workforce in India, emphasizing its commitment to supporting the local economy and providing essential growth. India is set to play a significant role in the global smartphone market in the coming years, and Nothing is dedicated to enhancing its ‘Make in India’ initiatives while increasing local production.
Carl Pei, Co-founder of Nothing, recently revealed plans to recruit two Chief of Staff members to oversee operations in both the US and India.
“This aligns with our broader objective of affirming India’s crucial role in our strategy,” stated Pranay Rao, Head of Marketing, Nothing in India.
“Currently, we have 500 employees at our factory in Chennai, with 95 percent being women, over 800 workers at our Noida facility, and more than 80 employees across various functions.”
“As we grow, we will continue to expand our workforce,” Rao added.
The London-based company has just unveiled the Nothing Phone (3a) series, which is strategically priced with the Indian consumer in mind.
“Starting at ₹22,999, the Phone (3a) is anticipated to attract general consumers seeking excellent performance combined with a top-tier camera system,” Rao explained.
Additionally, regarding the Pro version, Rao mentioned, “We expect photography enthusiasts to take notice due to the introduction of a 50 MP Periscope lens with the Sony LYTIA 600 sensor, which offers lossless in-sensor zooming at up to 6x. When paired with AI clarity-enhancing algorithms, it can achieve 60x ultra zoom.”
It is noteworthy that the Pro version also starts at a price point below ₹30,000, featuring a unique design.
Furthermore, the company has observed a growing interest in AI functionalities, which prompted the launch of Essential Space.
Essential Space serves as an AI-driven hub for notes, ideas, and inspiration. It streamlines the process of capturing and recalling content, functioning like a second memory.
“I believe the standout feature of the Phone (3a) Pro is its camera combined with its distinctive design. The Pro version offers an unparalleled telephoto zoom experience through its powerful periscope zoom,” noted Rao.
The high-resolution 50MP sensor provides seamless in-sensor zooming up to 6x, and with AI enhancement, it can achieve 60x ultra zoom. Where the Phone (3a) Pro excels beyond flagship smartphones is in its telemacro capabilities, allowing it to focus as closely as 15cm from a subject, overcoming the limitations that often hinder flagship models.
