Diljit Dosanjh Proposes a Festival in India That Surpasses Coachella
On January 4, in a discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh expressed that India has the potential to host a festival even greater than Coachella due to its vibrant culture.

Mumbai, January 4 (NationPress) - In an engaging dialogue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the renowned Punjabi artist Diljit Dosanjh asserted that India could host a festival that is larger than Coachella, thanks to the country's diverse cultural heritage.

During their discussion, the distinguished leader inquired about Diljit's experiences at major music festivals. He also asked about aspects like language, style, and emotions.

“Sir, I believe that festivals like Coachella have been established by others. We have the potential to create something much more magnificent. People travel globally for such events,” said Diljit.

“Our culture is incredibly rich. There are times when I dine at a dhaba, and someone sings a beautiful Rajasthani song. I feel compelled to stop singing because their performance is so captivating. Even though I am a professional singer, I find their talent to be on another level; they possess immense artistry,” he added.

“If we develop this further, individuals from across the globe would be drawn here.”

PM Modi responded that he has been contemplating a similar idea.

“I have had this thought for several years, and I am now taking action. I am initiating a movement called Waves. Given that India is such a vast country, and most of the world’s films originate here, we possess the largest creative industry globally. Therefore, I am establishing a significant wave movement here, aiming to unite the global creative community,” he stated.

“India will become the hub of the world’s creative endeavors. I once met with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who inquired about our music. I explained to her that the music before dawn differs from that which follows. I highlighted the various types of music we have.”

“Each situation calls for a different type of music. In times of sorrow, there is one genre, while in joyous moments, another prevails. She was quite intrigued by this,” he concluded.
