New Delhi, Feb 5 (NationPress) - The Chief Minister of Delhi, Atishi, along with former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, participated in the voting process on Wednesday as the electoral exercise unfolds across all 70 Assembly seats in the national capital.

Prior to casting her vote, AAP candidate from Kalkaji, Atishi, visited Kalkaji Temple to offer her prayers. While addressing the media, she accused the BJP of breaching the election code of conduct and claimed that the Delhi Police was complicit in their actions.

"It is evident that the disorder occurring during these elections is being orchestrated collaboratively by the BJP and Delhi Police... This is a confrontation of truth versus falsehood, and I genuinely believe that the citizens of Delhi will side with the truth, progress, and thwart hooliganism," stated CM Atishi.

In the meantime, Manish Sisodia, the AAP candidate for Jangpura, along with his spouse Seema Sisodia, cast their votes at Lady Irwin Senior Secondary School in New Delhi. Before voting, he visited several polling stations in the vicinity.

"Siksha ki kranti jeetegi (The education revolution will prevail)," Sisodia remarked, encouraging the residents of Delhi to vote for a brighter future that includes enhanced education, electricity, water supply, and pollution management.

Additionally, Delhi's Environment Minister and AAP candidate for Babarpur, Gopal Rai, also exercised his voting rights.

Speaking to IANS, he expressed optimism regarding a favorable outcome. "The public is poised to elect a government that is action-oriented," he asserted.

Voting commenced early in the morning and is set to continue until 6 p.m. Authorities have implemented heightened security measures at nearly 3,000 sensitive polling booths, deploying 220 paramilitary companies, 35,626 Delhi Police personnel, and 19,000 Home Guards. Additionally, drone surveillance and Quick Reaction Teams have been deployed to maintain law and order.

The elections will determine whether the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) maintains its dominance, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) makes a comeback, or if the Congress re-establishes itself as a contender. Election results are scheduled to be announced on February 8.

Campaigning concluded on Monday at 6 p.m. following a vigorous electoral contest. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP claimed a remarkable victory, securing 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP took home eight seats. The Congress, for the second consecutive election, did not secure any seats.

As voting continues, all attention is focused on voter turnout and the ultimate outcome.
