Mumbai, Feb 1 (NationPress) Actor Fardeen Khan, who made his comeback to the cinema with the comedy film ‘Khel Khel Mein’, has received a nomination for the Best Supporting Actor category at the forthcoming IIFA Awards. The actor expressed his heartfelt gratitude for being acknowledged for his performance.

‘Khel Khel Mein’ is inspired by the 2016 Italian movie ‘Perfect Strangers’ and features a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal.

On Saturday, Fardeen took to his Instagram account to share the nomination details from the IIFA. He conveyed his appreciation with the caption, “I am honoured to be nominated for ‘Best Supporting Actor’ by the IIFA Awards for ‘Khel Khel Mein’. I am truly grateful to be included among such esteemed company; congratulations to my fellow nominees! A big thank you to everyone who voted and deemed my performance worthy of this nomination. May the best man win.”

In this film, Fardeen portrays the character of a cricket coach who reveals his true self. His portrayal was lauded for its vulnerability and charm, making the character feel both authentic and unforgettable.

With this nomination, Khan’s revival in Bollywood is attracting attention. His journey from being a star in the 2000s to making impactful choices in this new chapter of his career underscores that talented individuals always carve a path back into the limelight.

Previously, the actor mentioned that his project ‘Visfot’ was the first film he signed after taking a hiatus from acting. He shared a special video from the film on his Instagram and wrote a detailed note in the caption.

He stated, “Bringing Shoeb Khan to life: My experience filming VISFOT. Portraying Shoeb Khan in ‘Visfot’ was a challenge that pushed me beyond my limits, enabling me to delve into a character I had never explored before. Visfot is a gritty crime drama set in Mumbai, a genre I had not acted in before. It narrates the story of two individuals from completely different backgrounds — one an upper middle-class pilot played by Riteish Deshmukh, and the other an Uber driver from Dongri, Shoeb Khan. This was my first project after my return and was intended to be my initial release but faced delays due to various factors.”

The actor expressed his appreciation to director Sanjay Gupta for trusting him with this opportunity.
