Chennai, Jan 31 (NationPress) Actor Karthi recently shared a delightful experience where he heard the song ‘Oo Antava’, a popular track by esteemed music composer Devi Sri Prasad, while at a club in Turkey. He remarked on how this melody has transcended borders, being celebrated worldwide.

Karthi, who was a special guest at the Tamil trailer launch event for the Telugu film Thandel, recounted, “Devi Sri Prasad's music resonates everywhere. While in Turkey, I began to hear a song in the distance around midnight. It sounded familiar, almost like an Indian tune. My wife, walking alongside me, echoed my thoughts, saying, ‘Yes, it’s a song we know well.’”

It was at that moment Karthi recognized the familiar tune. He chuckled, saying, “For a brief second, I thought Devi Sri Prasad had taken inspiration from a Turkish song for ‘Oo Antava’!”

Upon entering the club, he discovered that it was indeed ‘Oo Antava’ being played, but in a remixed version. “What more recognition can an artist desire?” he mused, acknowledging the global reach of Devi Sri Prasad's music.

Karthi praised Devi Sri Prasad for his relentless dedication to music, stating that he is always in his studio and constantly speaking about his craft. “Wherever I go, they refer to him differently—‘Tamil boy’ in Andhra, ‘Telugu boy’ in Tamil Nadu. The truth is, he belongs to everyone,” Karthi explained.

Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music for Thandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, featuring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi as leads. The film is produced by Bunny Vasu under the renowned Geetha Arts banner, with Allu Aravind presenting it. Choreography is by Shekar Master, while Shamdat handles cinematography, and the editing is led by Naveen Nooli, a National Award winner. The art department is overseen by Srinagendra Tangala.

Set to release on February 7, Thandel is inspired by a true event involving 22 fishermen from a village in Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh, who unwittingly drifted into Pakistani waters and were captured.
