Chennai, Jan 31 (NationPress) Emerging actor Kishen Das celebrated his wedding to longtime friend Suchithra on Friday at a Chennai venue, coinciding with the release of his film ‘Tharunam’ across the state.

Sources indicate that the ceremony was an intimate gathering, attended only by close family and friends.

Director Aravindh Srinivasan, who attended the event, shared a photo with the newlyweds on his X timeline, stating, “Today’s occasion is not only about the release of #Tharunam—it’s a significant #Tharunam moment for #Kishen & #Suchithra as they embark on their journey of marriage! Wishing you both endless joy, @kishendas. May the film’s success add to your happiness—my special gift to you both! #HappyMarriedLife.”

Interestingly, Tharunam, featuring Kishen Das in the lead role, was initially supposed to premiere on January 14. However, it was pulled from theaters shortly after due to insufficient screening arrangements, leading to its eventual release on January 31.

Previously, Kishen Das and Suchithra, who have been close friends for quite some time, took their relationship to the next level by getting engaged last year.

After his engagement, Kishen posted on Instagram, saying, “She didn’t say no! Witnessed Thiruchitrambalam unfold in real life as I got engaged to my best friend! A heartfelt thanks to @magicmotionmedia @amalvargheseviolin @thecandleventure and @whizzevents for making this day memorable.”

Meanwhile, the producers of Tharunam have expanded its screening to more theaters. In this film, which showcases Kishen Das as an officer in the Cobra unit of the CRPF, shooting took place over 37 days in and around Chennai. Originally, the team had intended to film in Kashmir, but this plan was scrapped due to the sinus issues of Smruthi Venkat, the lead actress.
