Mumbai, Jan 22 (NationPress) As Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor star in the celebrated film “Padmaavat”, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the production team is gearing up to celebrate its seventh anniversary with a special re-release on January 24.
Bhansali Productions announced the news on Instagram, sharing the film's poster and inviting fans to witness this epic saga on the big screen once more.

This historical drama, based on the poem by Malik Muhammad Jayasi, chronicles the remarkable beauty of Rani Padmavati, her defiance against the merciless Sultan Alauddin Khilji, and her unwavering bravery.
Since its initial release in 2018, “Padmaavat” also features notable performances from Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh, Raza Murad, and Anupriya Goenka. The plot centers around Queen Padmavati, who is content in her marriage until the tyrannical Sultan declares war, driven by his obsession with her beauty.
Although it faced a ban in certain states, it emerged as the third highest-grossing Indian film of 2018.
Prior to its release, the film encountered significant controversies, with Rajput organizations, including the Shri Rajput Karni Sena, protesting and vandalizing sets, claiming the portrayal of Padmavati was misleading. Bhansali himself was attacked during filming.
In 2017, while shooting in Kolhapur, the set was stormed, causing injury to animals and damage to costumes. Additionally, there were protests from some Muslim leaders over the depiction of Alauddin Khilji, advocating for a ban.
