Mumbai, Jan 21 (NationPress) Filmmaker-writer Tahira Kashyap, who celebrated her 42nd birthday on Tuesday, expressed that each year, her birthday is a special occasion as she cherishes unforgettable moments with friends and family.
Tahira shared: "Every year, my birthday feels unique and special! Three years prior, I enjoyed a safari adventure with friends in Gir. Two years ago, it was an all-girls trip to Dubai. Last year, I celebrated in tranquility in Goa with a classical performance, surrounded by family."
“I feel profoundly blessed to have such considerate friends and family who organize something distinctive and memorable each time. As adults, it can seem unusual to get excited about birthdays, yet my loved ones consistently make mine remarkable,” she noted.
The spouse of actor Ayushmann Khurrana is eager for this year's festivities as well.
“Above all, I am thankful that every year, I can celebrate my special day with my loved ones in the most heartwarming manner. Truly, I couldn’t wish for more!” she added.
Recently, Tahira shared a touching memory of her first Lohri celebration as a newlywed, ahead of the festival.
Reflecting on the experience, Tahira remarked, "In Punjabi culture, the first Lohri after marriage is celebrated with great enthusiasm. My in-laws organized a party for us, the newlywed couple. There was dancing and music, with married couples circling around the bonfire. We enjoyed gajak (chikki), peanuts, and popcorn, which were also tossed into the bonfire."
She continued, “Naturally, the chants of 'Sundar Mundriye' filled the atmosphere. The last two lines of the song made me chuckle. It literally translates to, ‘Give us Lohri, may your pair live long, whether you cry or bang your head later.’ That’s quite a disclaimer for young Punjabi couples from their elders.”
In the meantime, her husband, Ayushmann, is currently filming for his upcoming movie ‘Thama’, described as a ‘bloody love story’ within Maddock’s blockbuster horror comedy universe.
The film promises to deliver a captivating love story set against a bloody backdrop and features a stellar cast including Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, along with Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of ‘Munjya’ fame, it is penned by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara, and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik.
