Mumbai, Feb 21 (NationPress) Actor Viineet Kumar Siingh recently recounted his alarming ordeal of suffering a significant injury while shooting a battle scene for the film 'Chhaava'.

Siingh opened up about the physical strain the filming imposed on him, especially during the Burhanpur battle sequence. Reflecting on the event, Viineet stated, “Experiencing cuts and bruises during training was quite common. However, while filming the Burhanpur battle, I faced a serious injury. We were all mounted on horses, wielding various weapons. I was on horseback with two swords when my horse reared up, causing me to be thrown off. I landed on my back, and the pain was so intense that my immediate thought was, 'God, please let me stand.' I had heard that back injuries could pose significant risks, and being thrown from a horse could be extremely painful.”

Viineet added, “I was also anxious that if my injury was severe, it would halt the entire film's shooting schedule. When I managed to get up, my whole body felt numb. My next plea was, 'God, please let me feel my legs and allow me to walk.' Thankfully, I was able to do just that, but my back remained numb.”

“The entire cast was present, including Laxman Sir and Vicky, and they were all utterly astonished to see me rise and walk as if nothing had happened. Laxman Sir promptly called for a break; I was given some time to rest and then returned to filming. In fact, I was actively receiving physiotherapy while simultaneously shooting for the other battle scenes. I had physiotherapists come to the set whenever I felt discomfort. Fortunately, I healed completely and am now fully recovered.”

In 'Chhaava', Viineet portrays the character of Chandogamatya Kavi Kalash. Vicky Kaushal plays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, while Rashmika Mandanna takes on the role of Maharani Yesubai. Produced by Maddock Films, 'Chhaava' also features Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Shahenshah Aurangzeb, Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite, Divya Dutta as Soyarabai, and Diana Penty as Zinat-un-Nissa Begum, Aurangzeb's daughter.

The film premiered in theaters on February 14, 2025.
