Narmada, Feb 6 (NationPress) In a remarkable milestone, the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs located in Gujarat’s Narmada district have secured an impressive total of 2 national-level and 37 state-level National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certificates within a span of just 10 months. This achievement highlights the district’s increasing dedication to delivering exceptional healthcare services.
From April to November 2024, healthcare facilities in the villages of Navpara and Sundarpura in Nandod taluka underwent comprehensive evaluations by teams from Delhi. These two Ayushman Arogya Mandir sub-centres, affiliated with the Sisodra and Jasalpur Primary Health Centres, satisfied the rigorous standards established by the National Quality Assurance Programme (NQAP), which assesses healthcare institutions on a range of quality metrics.
The assessment process involved an in-depth review by national officials, concentrating on factors such as infrastructure, sanitation, medical services, and the overall quality of healthcare delivered. Only those institutions that achieve these stringent standards receive the esteemed NQAS certification. This thorough evaluation guarantees that the healthcare centres not only provide basic medical treatment but also uphold a high standard of patient care, establishing these facilities as exemplary models of quality in healthcare.
The Narmada District Health Officer, Janak Madhak, shared his insights with IANS regarding the significance of this accolade: "The Ayushman Bharat Arogya Mandirs in Sundarpura and Navpara have attained national-level certification owing to the superior quality of their services. Through this initiative, we offer twelve categories of essential healthcare services, from child care to elderly support, ensuring comprehensive and quality care for our citizens."
The Ayushman Arogya Mandir initiative provides a wide array of healthcare services, including free medical check-ups, medications, and health education. It has emerged as a crucial resource for the community, with each facility serving several villages. For instance, the Sundarpura centre caters to four villages and offers free consultations, a selection of 195 types of medicines, and daily Yoga sessions aimed at enhancing both physical and mental health.
Dr Devesh Bhardwaj, a physician at the Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Sundarpura, emphasized the centre’s influence: "We have been awarded the NQAS certificate for seven of our services, and it’s been a fulfilling journey. We’re not only providing medical care; we’re also advocating wellness through Yoga and health education."
