Jaipur, Jan 17 (NationPress) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted the significant role of doctors in achieving the goal of a 'Healthy Rajasthan' and declared that 50,000 personnel will be hired shortly in the Health Department.

During a pre-budget discussion with medical and health sector representatives on Friday, Sharma stated, “Doctors, with their expertise and compassion, are essential to our vision. Ensuring quality healthcare for the state's populace is our utmost priority.”

He also mentioned that the input from medical professionals regarding the upcoming budget is invaluable and will greatly assist the public.

“We are dedicated to fostering a thriving and healthy Rajasthan under the ‘Apno Swasth Rajasthan’ initiative,” he affirmed.

The Chief Minister disclosed that 21,000 medical personnel, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, have been appointed, and plans are in place to recruit an additional 50,000 staff soon.

He underscored the state’s commitment to healthcare, noting that 8.26 percent of the previous budget was dedicated to health services.

Sharma commended the state’s accomplishments, which exceed the national average in aspects like institutional deliveries, maternal and infant mortality rates, vaccination coverage, and the availability of healthcare facilities.

Sharma elaborated on the government’s recent initiatives, stating, "The state has also established Abha IDs for nearly 6 crore residents, positioning Rajasthan as second in the country for digital health record management. Moreover, over 11,500 health institutions have been operationalized as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, benefiting millions of individuals."

He listed the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana (MA), which facilitates cashless treatment of up to ₹25 lakh.

Sharma also discussed specialized care packages, announcing that 73 daycare packages for severe diseases like cancer and 419 pediatric packages for infant care are available.

He emphasized telemedicine services through e-Sanjeevani, the organization of over 1.67 lakh health camps, and the expansion of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras. Efforts are also underway to make Rajasthan TB-free through the 'TB Mukt Gram Panchayat' campaign.

Sharma revealed plans to transform Jaipur into a hub for advanced cardiac care with a state-of-the-art cardiac tower. Additionally, RUHS Hospital in Pratapnagar is being upgraded to RIMS, modeled after AIIMS. The government is also vigorously combating food adulteration through the 'Shuddha Aahar-Adulteration Par War Campaign'.

Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar commended the Chief Minister’s leadership in expanding healthcare services and emphasized the advantages of initiatives such as digital health technology, telemedicine, and Abha IDs.

He voiced confidence in achieving the aspiration of a Healthy Rajasthan through collaborative efforts.

Representatives from various health institutions shared suggestions on improving transplant services, enhancing public-private partnerships, promoting medical research and tourism, and raising health awareness among the public.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Akhil Arora, and Principal Secretary Medical and Health Gayatri A. Rathore. Representatives from institutions such as Mahavir Cancer Hospital, Narayana Hospital, IMA Rajasthan Branch, and Red Cross Society also participated.
