United Nations, March 15 (NationPress) In a strong condemnation of Pakistan's “fanatical mindset”, India’s Permanent Representative P Harish has stated that Islamabad's repeated claims regarding Kashmir in international forums will not excuse cross-border terrorism nor alter the reality that the region is an inseparable part of India.

His remarks came as a response to Pakistan’s former Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua, who raised the issue of Kashmir during an informal meeting of the General Assembly to observe the International Day to Combat Islamophobia.

“As has been their custom, the former Foreign Secretary of Pakistan made an unwarranted reference to the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” remarked Harish. “Such frequent mentions will neither legitimize their claims nor justify their practice of cross-border terrorism.”

He further emphasized, “The fanatical mindset of this nation is well-known, as is its history of bigotry.”

“These attempts will not alter the fact that Jammu and Kashmir was, is, and will forever remain an integral part of India,” he asserted.

Pakistan's voice at the UN regarding Kashmir has often been one of isolation.

Despite raising the Kashmir issue at every opportunity, no other nation has supported its cause.

Janjua, who served as Pakistan’s foreign secretary from 2017 to 2019, participated in the meeting as an invitee rather than a representative of Islamabad.

She attempted to connect the Kashmir issue to Gaza, a common tactic used by Pakistan, claiming, “Islamophobia is a major factor in the horrific killings of Muslims in occupied territories, including Indian-occupied Kashmir and Palestine.”

Additionally, she indirectly referred to “lynchings” associated with “Love Jihad” and “cow vigilantes.”
