Washington, Feb 5 (NationPress) US President Donald Trump has unveiled a plan aimed at addressing the prolonged crisis in West Asia, which includes the United States assuming control over the Gaza Strip. This proposal suggests relocating the Palestinians currently residing there or those displaced to shelters in neighboring countries like Egypt and Jordan.

“I firmly believe that the Gaza Strip, which has represented a land of tragedy and devastation for many years, has brought suffering not only to its residents but to surrounding areas as well. It has been a place of misfortune for a long time,” Trump stated during a press conference alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, marking Netanyahu's first visit as a foreign leader to the American president.

“We should reach out to other nations that share a humanitarian vision, as there are numerous countries willing to assist in establishing various settlements for the 1.8 million Palestinians in Gaza, aiming to end the ongoing cycle of death and despair,” he remarked, adding, “Funding could be provided by neighboring wealthy nations.”

“The US will take ownership of the Gaza Strip, and we will manage the entire process. We will take charge of dismantling hazardous unexploded ordnance and other weaponry present in the area. We aim to level the site, remove the damaged structures, and initiate economic development that could generate countless jobs and housing opportunities for local residents,” he explained.

“We need to embark on a genuine endeavor, exploring different approaches,” the American leader acknowledged the innovative nature of his strategy, “Returning to previous methods will only lead to the same outcomes we've witnessed for a century.”

“I am optimistic that this cease-fire could mark the start of a more significant and lasting peace, bringing an end to the violence and bloodshed. My administration has been dedicated to restoring trust within our alliances and enhancing American influence in the region. We have achieved a lot recently. The US is once again a respected nation. I reversed the prior administration's informal arms embargo, which had prevented over $1 billion in military aid to Israel. Additionally, I am pleased to announce that the United States has withdrawn from the antisemitic UN Human Rights Council and ceased all support for the UN Relief and Works Agency, which had funneled funds to Hamas, betraying humanitarian principles,” Trump stated.

“Today, I have also reinstated a maximum pressure strategy against the Iranian regime, and we will enforce the strictest sanctions possible to reduce Iranian oil exports to zero and limit the regime's ability to finance terrorism both regionally and globally,” he added.
