Jaipur, Feb 8 (NationPress) A cold wave has persisted in various regions of Rajasthan on Saturday, with temperatures plummeting across multiple districts due to the relentless northern winds.
Despite the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur forecasting severe cold for Saturday, a reduction in the intensity of the northern winds from Sunday is expected, leading to a rise in temperatures and some respite from the chill.
On Friday, the maximum daytime temperatures in several cities—such as Sikar, Udaipur, and Kota—fell by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius.
The cold remained severe throughout the day, with chilly winds blowing even during the afternoon.
On Friday, in five cities, the minimum temperature dipped below 5 degrees Celsius, heightening the winter chill.
The lowest recorded temperatures included Fatehpur at 3.2 degrees Celsius, Churu at 5.6 degrees, Mount Abu at 4.0, Nagaur at 4.3, and Karauli at 3.8 degrees Celsius.
Additionally, the highest temperatures recorded on Friday were Mt Abu at 22.4 degrees Celsius, Sirohi at 21.6, Fatehpur at 23.6, Hanumangarh and Baran at 22.9, Churu at 24.5, Bikaner at 24.8, Udaipur at 23.8, Kota at 24.0, Sikar and Alwar at 22.0, and Jaipur at 24.7 degrees Celsius.
Cold winds continued to sweep through these cities, amplifying the winter chill.
In the western part of Rajasthan, areas like Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jalore, and Jodhpur experienced cloudy conditions in the afternoon.
The highest readings in these regions were Barmer at 29.0 degrees Celsius, Jaisalmer at 26.5, Jodhpur at 27.3, Phalodi at 26.6, Chittorgarh at 27.4, Dungarpur at 27.2, and Jalore at 28.3 degrees Celsius.
