Patna, Feb 8 (NationPress) A group of 30 Bihar MPs recently convened with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where JD-U Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha conveyed that the MPs expressed their appreciation for the substantial allocations directed to Bihar in the Union Budget 2025-26.

"In the previous Budget (2024-25), Bihar was allotted Rs 60,000 crore, and this year’s Budget maintains that trajectory with larger investments focused on the state’s growth. Therefore, the NDA MPs met with the Prime Minister to express their gratitude for such a generous allocation for Bihar via the Union Budget," Jha remarked.

The Budget encompasses provisions for new airports, infrastructure initiatives, and the creation of a Makhana Board aimed at boosting the production and marketing of foxnuts, which are a vital agricultural product for the state.

Commenting on the recent Delhi Assembly elections, Jha critiqued the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, highlighting that numerous areas in Delhi were devoid of basic necessities such as drinking water and adequate roads.

"The state of these areas was more dire than that of villages in Bihar. The exit polls predicting success for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) were precise, and we expect a BJP-led administration to emerge in Delhi," the JD-U leader affirmed.

In response to remarks by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding the rights of Dalits in Bihar, Jha pointed out that the Congress had held power in Bihar for several years and was in alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) from 1990 to 2005.

"Why didn’t they grant rights to Dalits and backward caste communities during their governance? Since 2005, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has enacted reservations in the Panchayati Raj system, ensuring rights for Backward, Extremely Backward, and Dalit communities in Bihar," Jha stated.

In relation to RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's comments about appointing Tejashwi Yadav as Chief Minister in 2025, Jha acknowledged that in an election year, campaigning is everyone's prerogative.

However, he referenced the recent by-elections in four Assembly constituencies — Imamganj, Belaganj, Tarari, and Ramgarh — where the NDA triumphed in all four seats.

Jha expressed optimism that despite the Opposition's endeavors, the election outcomes would favor the NDA.

Regarding Tejashwi Yadav's discussions with the Governor concerning the increase in crime in Bihar, Jha insisted that the law and order situation in the state remains stable and ranks among the best nationwide.
