Patna, Feb 4 (NationPress) In a pivotal Cabinet gathering on Tuesday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar green-lighted a total of 136 proposals, which encompass employment opportunities, infrastructure enhancements, and medical services in the state.

Many initiatives were unveiled during the Pragati Yatra and consist of extensive projects aimed at advancing Bihar’s growth.

Nitish Kumar had pledged to establish a Government Medical College & Hospital in Araria during the Pragati Yatra. The Cabinet has now allocated funds for its development. Additionally, a significant healthcare initiative was sanctioned for Khagaria, where a medical college was also approved in this Cabinet session.

During the Cabinet meeting, a total of 188 schemes were validated under the Pragati Yatra, with a cumulative value of ₹20,000 crore. The Road Construction and Water Resources Departments received the highest amount of approvals.

Nitish Kumar stressed the importance of extensive recruitment and job creation across various sectors. Numerous road and water resource projects are included to enhance connectivity and irrigation within Bihar.

The approvals indicate substantial advancement in Bihar’s health, infrastructure, and employment domains. With a significant allocation of funds for vital projects, Nitish Kumar’s administration aspires to expedite development throughout the state.

The Cabinet has also endorsed the increase of guest faculties within the Health Department to bolster medical education and services. Furthermore, two government doctors, who had faced dismissal, were reinstated, and a specialized POCSO court will be established in Banka to address cases related to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

To enhance public transportation, new inter-state bus terminals will be built in Purnea and Darbhanga, Sindheshwar Sthan (Madhepura) will be developed as a tourist hub, Areraj Temple will undergo extensive renovations, and Harihar Nath Temple will be refurbished to mirror the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. The second phase of the Kalpvas Mela will be developed in Simaria, Begusarai, and a new stadium is set to be built in Bettiah.

The government's emphasis on job creation, the development of religious sites, and enhanced public amenities reflects a holistic strategy for comprehensive growth across the state.
