New Delhi, Jan 24 (NationPress) Following the withdrawal of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal's Z-plus security by Punjab Police, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva questioned the previous justification for granting high-level security to Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar.

Sachdeva inquired why Kumar, who allegedly coordinated an attack on a female MP at the Chief Minister's residence, warranted Z-plus security.

Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, who accompanied Sachdeva, criticized Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for his claims regarding Punjabi and Sikh pride. He stated that AAP MP Raghav Chadha misused his Z-plus security by utilizing Punjab Police and Sikh officers as wait staff at his wedding, which he considered disrespectful to both Punjab Police and the Sikh community.

Bittu noted that turban-wearing Sikh policemen were assigned to greet guests, serve as waiters, and present bouquets.

He asserted that Punjab’s Chief Minister is trying to persuade the public that Kejriwal’s life is in jeopardy, despite a lack of evidence supporting such claims.

Bittu accused the AAP of fabricating pre-election plots, suggesting they might orchestrate an attack on themselves and blame the BJP; a strategy he claimed is typical of their political approach.

He reminded that Kejriwal already possesses Z-plus security from Delhi Police. Previous leaders like Akhilesh Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, and Ghulam Nabi Azad have also had similar security without sparking such controversies.

Earlier, Kejriwal reiterated his accusations regarding a decline in law and order in the city, blaming Delhi Police and Home Minister Amit Shah, a claim dismissed by political opponents.

On Thursday, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that instructions from the EC and Delhi Police led to the withdrawal of Punjab Police personnel assigned to the former Chief Minister's security.

Kejriwal had claimed that his vehicle was attacked during a public rally in the Hari Nagar constituency on Thursday.

He alleged that Delhi Police, under the directive of the Home Minister, permitted the Opposition's supporters to invade his rally, resulting in an attack on his vehicle.

The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 5, with results to be announced on February 8.
