Patna, Feb 21 (NationPress) Tragically, six individuals lost their lives after a car, which was returning from the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, collided with a stationary truck in Bihar's Bhojpur district on Friday.
The incident took place around 3:30 a.m. near Dulhinganj Bazar, falling under the jurisdiction of Jagdishpur police station along the Arrah-Mohania four-lane road.
The officer-in-charge (SHO) of Jagdishpur police confirmed the details of the accident. “The victims, hailing from Patna's Jakkanpur and Kumhrar areas, were heading back from the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj when their speeding Baleno car crashed into a parked truck,” the SHO disclosed to IANS.
Initial investigations indicate that the driver might have briefly dozed off, resulting in this tragic incident. First responders from a nearby fuel station promptly began rescue efforts and notified local authorities.
“Upon receiving news of the accident, we quickly arrived at the scene to retrieve the bodies from the vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the site. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations at Sadar Hospital in Arrah, and the families of the deceased have been informed,” he stated.

The accident claimed the lives of four women. The deceased include 62-year-old Sanjay Kumar and his wife, 58-year-old Karuna Devi, their 25-year-old son Lal Babu Singh, and their 20-year-old daughter Priyam Kumari, all residents of Jakkanpur. Additionally, Asha Kumari (28) and Juhi Rani (25), who lived in Kumhrar, also tragically lost their lives.
