New Delhi, Feb 5 (NationPress) To ensure the effective execution of the Delhi Assembly elections on Wednesday, the Delhi government has proclaimed a public holiday. This holiday is applicable to all government and private sector offices throughout the national capital.
A notification from the General Administration Department confirmed by Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena states, “February 5 will be a public holiday for all governmental offices, local and autonomous bodies, and public sector undertakings operating under the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi in relation to the General Election to the Delhi Legislative Assembly.”
In addition, the Delhi Metro has introduced special operating hours today to assist with election responsibilities. Metro services across all lines commenced at 4 AM from their respective terminal stations.
Initially, trains ran every 30 minutes until 6 A.M. Following this, regular service resumed, allowing commuters to travel normally. This early operation was designed to accommodate election staff on duty.
