Gurugram, April 24 (NationPress) A team from the District Town and Country Planning (DTCP) department executed a demolition operation in the Sohna block of Gurugram, where ten unauthorized colonies were being constructed on approximately 15 acres, officials reported on Thursday.

The district town planner (enforcement), along with their team, carried out the demolition in the area.

DTCP officials stated that these colonies were being established illegally in Alipur, Ghamroj, Bhondsi, and Sehjawas villages without the necessary approvals from the relevant department.

During the operation, three illegal colonies were dismantled in Alipur village, which occupied around eight acres of land. This included the demolition of 7 boundary walls, an under-construction house, and a road network.

“The enforcement team also tore down plinths, the road network, boundary walls, and one upcoming structure in Ghamroj village covering around five acres, along with 20 boundary walls,” the officials noted.

The team also dismantled two houses and 20 boundary walls in the colony under development in Sehjawas village.

In addition, a colony in the Bhondsi area was demolished, including 7 under-construction houses, 50 boundary walls, and a road network.

Numerous policemen were stationed at the site to manage any potential disturbances during the operation.

“The DTP department has issued clear directives to the concerned Tehsildar that registries must not be processed in these colonies; if they are, action will be taken against the relevant Tehsildar,” stated DTCP (enforcement) Manish Yadav in an interview with IANS.

“We also urged the public not to invest in these illegal colonies. These unauthorized colonies fall under section 7A of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act. It is essential to obtain an NOC from the Town and Country Planning Department before commencing any activities,” he added.
