Bhopal, March 17 (NationPress) Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and prominent Congress figure Kamal Nath stated on Monday that occurrences of mob lynching and assaults on police officers have become increasingly frequent in the state, labeling the current situation as chaos under the BJP administration.

Kamal Nath expressed these views during the ongoing budget discussions in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

In response to a series of recent violent acts against law enforcement, he noted, "Madhya Pradesh has turned into the hub of lawlessness, and the entire nation is observing this chaos unfold. Corruption within the governance framework has reached unprecedented levels, showcasing the reality of BJP-led Madhya Pradesh."

The Congress leader also voiced his concerns on social media platform X, declaring, "There has been ongoing friction between the police and lawyers in Indore following the Holi incident. The citizens of the state are curious as to why the law-and-order situation has declined so drastically. On one side, lawyers well-versed in the law and Constitution are protesting due to a lack of justice, while on the other, the police are anxious about their safety. I demand a thorough investigation be conducted, and that stringent action be taken against those responsible."

His remarks come in the aftermath of the heinous murder of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ramcharan Gautam in the district of Mauganj, Madhya Pradesh. Gautam was lynched while attempting to rescue a man reportedly abducted by a mob. The victim, Sunny Dube, was later discovered deceased in a locked room.

Kamal Nath, who serves as the representative for the Chhindwara assembly constituency, is actively engaged in the state budget discussions. Despite the Congress party organizing multiple protests since the commencement of the budget session on March 10, Kamal Nath had not participated in these demonstrations until now.

The budget session resumed on Monday following a hiatus for the Holi festival.
