Raipur, Feb 5 (NationPress) In a significant operation against terrorism, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended four individuals linked to the outlawed CPI (Maoists) in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.
The apprehended individuals functioned as Over Ground Workers (OGWs), facilitating the terror group by providing them with essential logistical support, as stated in an official announcement by the NIA.
The detained individuals have been identified as Anish Khan alias Annu Khan, Anil Kumar Netam, Jaysing, and Raghuveer.
According to the NIA, “All are committed members of CPI (Maoists), responsible for arranging safe houses and supplying critical materials, including explosives and detonators, to the Maoists.”
The arrests are linked to an investigation concerning the recovery of weapons from the cadres in the Kuyemelari area committee of the CPI (Maoists) in Kanker district.
Further inquiries by the NIA have uncovered that the CPI (Maoists) members DVC Sonu and DVC Prasad orchestrated plans for an attack and a meeting to issue a boycott call for the upcoming elections in the state, both of whom were active in the Kyuemaro area of Kanker district.
“Two armed members were effectively apprehended prior to executing an assault on the police unit,” the NIA reported.
