Bhubaneswar, Feb 5 (NationPress) The Odisha Tourism department conducted a roadshow in Hyderabad on Tuesday, with the goal of enhancing both inbound and domestic tourism by showcasing its rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and various tourist attractions.

The event, held in collaboration with FICCI, saw participation from over 40 travel operators and more than 20 tourism investors from Hyderabad, engaging in a series of B2G interactions.

According to a statement from the state tourism department, Odisha is proactively promoting its tourism sector within domestic markets by highlighting its diverse offerings, which include cultural heritage monuments, waterfalls, wildlife, local cuisine, hills, and Buddhist circuits.

This initiative is further supported by the popular Eco Retreat Odisha, a three-month glamping festival that has garnered significant recognition. The roadshow took place at Taj Krishna in Hyderabad and featured a variety of informative sessions and interactive discussions with travel operators and tourism stakeholders from the region.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who participated in the event, stated: "Our steadfast commitment fosters a pro-investment environment, providing strong support for businesses. With unparalleled destinations and tranquil landscapes, Odisha offers a prime opportunity for investors to establish, grow, and succeed in one of India’s most promising tourism markets.”

Her remarks emphasized the state government’s dedication to enhancing the tourism sector and creating a welcoming atmosphere for both tourists and investors.

“Odisha is leading the charge in India’s tourism growth—investor-friendly policies, superior infrastructure, and an unwavering dedication to investors. The moment to collaborate with Odisha is now because ‘Think India, Think Odisha’,” added Deputy CM Parida.

Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Tourism department, Balwant Singh, highlighted the vast tourism potential of the state and the initiatives aimed at making Odisha a key destination for domestic travelers. He elaborated on the excellent road network connecting Odisha with neighboring states.

The event also featured a series of interactive Q&A sessions with stakeholders, allowing travel operators, tour agencies, and other tourism-related businesses from Hyderabad to engage in meaningful discussions with the Odisha Tourism delegation led by Deputy CM Parida.

These sessions facilitated valuable Business-to-Government (B2G) interactions, anticipated to strengthen the relationship between Odisha and Hyderabad’s travel industry.

One of the key highlights of the session was the proposition for Odisha’s inclusion in prominent Tourism Plazas, which would enhance the visibility and accessibility of the state’s rich tourism offerings. Another vital discussion revolved around the promotion of wellness tourism in Odisha.

The stakeholders proposed several ideas to leverage Odisha’s natural beauty, serene landscapes, and traditional wellness practices to position the state as a premier wellness destination.

Later that day, the Odisha Tourism delegation convened with over 12 potential investors from the travel and tourism sector to explore investment opportunities in the state's growing tourism infrastructure.

During the discussions, talks were initiated to investigate the development of hotels, resorts, and concert venues in Odisha in collaboration with the Department of Tourism.
